I'm reminded on days like today why I could never live in the desert permanently. It's currently 10:15pm and 70°F. I just got out of a could shower and already starting to heat up again. :P I've got a high body temp. This makes me popular for snuggles in the winter and a pariah in the summer. BUT! On the up-side today, I have lost a few inches around the middle! My favorite summer nightdress fits better then it ever has. I'm uber happy about this because it's gone from nearly obscenely short to just above my knees.

I am feeling a bit energetic...creative? whatever. Like I might be able to convince the muse to stand still long enough to get something written. I know, shocking. I'm thinking something bandom related and possibly work on an HP fic. We'll see. I'm also making frozen cola. Which takes time, but is so worth it.

I've been admonished for not updating other then to say “Yay! Made it.” so~o

• Got apartment, with Mom, beginning of September.
  
• In-rolled at University of Alaska – Fairbanks.
  
• I'm taking English 211 (skipped 111 course!) and Anthropology. Getting a B and an A, respectively. I'm behind – see below.
  
• Our TV sat facing the wall all for 5 weeks, now it's on a desk, facing the couch – still not plugged in 3 weeks later. We might get cable come New Year's, or not depending on how Mom feels. Can't say I've missed it much so far.
  
• Our comp died before we left PA, so Gray gave me her Mom's old comp and Dad fixed it for me.
  
• We got phone/net service in October.
  
• Found out the comp we've got can't run the Internet. Also? No sound card/drivers – something.
  
• Borrowing a laptop right now.
  
• Spend huge amounts of time at Gray's. We're trying to whip the place into shape. It's scarily like I never left in some ways.
  
• Mom had to go to ER and had a minor surgery on 10/6. She's been to the follow up and after tests next week she might need a biopsy. I had to take her to Wound Care at the hospital every day for nearly two weeks.
  
• Gray and I have been going to the UAF hockey games, it's fun. We get in free since we're students. Gray convinced me to hand-sew the name patch on the jersey she won last year. I was only slightly miffed to find out that she can in fact hand-sew. Brat.
  
• Gray has also gotten me into WoW. O.o I don't even know. I'm trying it, playing a character on her account. It's kind of fun but seems like it could get repetitive for my tastes. I prefer puzzler games rather then combat.
  
• Can't find my graphics program cd! It's just vanished. *pouts* I'm going to have to look through stuff again. If I can't find it I might have to break down and buy the newer version, I spent $10 three years ago for it so not that big a loss. I've got a copy of photoshop on the desktop but it's bugged – won't let me save files.
  
• Next semester I'm going to have enough left over from my student loans to get a laptop. I'm very excited about this. (esp since Grimm will eventually want this one back.)

Well my lovelies it is official. I'm moving! God willing and the creeks don't rise, as the saying goes, I'll be back in Alaska in July. Mom works until the 5th. We have house appraisal and passports and final packing but after that we're good to go. So this means after the 5th until we get set up in AK I'll probably not be online unless I can steal a few min at Jen's before we leave or Gray's after we get there.

We are driving back. ROAD TRIP! Like eight days to get there. I'm going to be sick of driving but I don't care. HOME and FRIENDS I haven't seen in five/six years. ~flails~ I am seriously fucking gleeful! ~squishes you all~

Sunday night we drove down to Aunt's. Monday, had a cook-out for the holiday with Aunt, Uncle, Jojo, Jen, Jen's BF and baby (she is getting big) and D&D. Ton of food that I mostly didn't have to cook and left overs to take home. Watched a lot of music, held the baby and talked a ton. It was fun, came home Tuesday night. Hope you guys had as much fun.

My Cousin B came up and finished digging in the yard while we were away - just out of the blue because he knew I was struggling with it. While he did that his wife mowed from the drive to the porch. Which was greatness since the grass was hip-high. (our mower had a small fire accident and is a bit... melted) It was a huge fucking surprise to come home to.

We're getting rid of our non-running van and our too small car. We might be getting cousin B's Explorer, the bestest alternative imo because B+L will sell it to us for a couple hundred instead of the couple thousand it's worth. (no, I don't feel bad about it since they got it from L's sister for the same price - less the cost of parts to fix it up. Family, people. Seriously golden.)

Busy, busy at home still. I'm not going to go in to details, I don't want to jinx it but I will say that if all goes well in a month I'll be one really, really happy girl. In the mean time Jojo might come stay for a week and if things get finished on time then I'll go stay at Aunt's for a few days/a week. I'm only up right now because the septic guy is coming this morning and Mom has to work this afternoon so I'm handling it. fun. fun. Also: It's heating up here and I don't like it, gimmie back the cold rainy weather. Yeah, I said it. Better the rain then the slow-roast of summer here. To keep my mind occupied I've been playing with my music and created the largest playlist, consisting of 80% of the music on my hard-drive. It'd be strangest too except my hd is mostly bandom music at this point (I dumped a lot of stuff so I'd have room for the bandom bands) and that goes well together. Go figure.

Life is hurtling on full tilt, leaving me a bit dazed. I'm not going to say what is going on right now, because I don't want to jinx it. But I'm this close /\ to flailing around from the stress and hiding under the desk to get a break.

On a happier note: My cousin Jen had her baby! A cute, tiny little girl. :D

We went to visit them last week but we only got to see the baby for a few minutes, she had a doctors appointment. Then we were busy getting Ann ready for her trip. She moved with her boyfriend to Texas. Cross your fingers that she'll stay there for more then three months.

The dog is finally healed up from his surgery. The scar is quite ugly, but I guess that's to be expected. He was allergic to the suture material and the stitches had to be taken out early. The big baby won't stay home by himself anymore. We took him down to Jen's with us, thankfully he was well behaved. Jojo's dog loved Max, it was kinda gross really. Max wanted to play with the cats, the cats were not amused. Ann's BF G's dog was a little bastard. He snapped and growled at Max and bit me on the ankle. I felt like smacking G. Because after that instead of leaving the little rat dog out in the lounge he brought it back inside. It continued to lunge at Max and snarl, Max just tilted his head to the side and looked at the other dog like 'what the hell is your problem?'

In fanish news my f-list is trying to get me sucked into bandom (Tokio Hotel, MCR, etc). Really they're quite evil.

I've been writing a Wufei interlude to ISWaPM. It needs some tweaking so it's moved to the back burner. I've got a naughty story idea involving Cupid/Strife/Pete (from FOB), which I blame entirely on ink_on_the_page. And while I was doped up on cold meds I let E talk me into signing up for Six_Cocktails challenge. I know I said I wasn't going to start another big project but E has a silver tongue I swear. But she will feel my wrath, oh yes she will. >:) So now I have to work on a Harry Potter fic.

I'd feel swamped but the fanish stuff is a good distraction. (could be why I was so easily talked into 6C)

Anyway, I need to get going. I think I saw a pair of jeans trying to escape the laundry basket. I really need to wash them before they learn to speak.

I think my muse lit a fire under me, I've been such a busy little bee today. I almost finished Nephir's fic, only a paragraph or so left I think. I like it but it lacks Spike so far. I don't know if I want to change it to add him or just not use the fic for fall_for_sx. blarg.

Instead of working on my other due-date things though I've been tinkering with Tyggie's Sentinel fic. It's so close to being done. I've got the end, the beginning into the middle, the only thing I'm struggling with is the smutty center. I always struggle with the smut, but then I end up writing the story into smutty situations. Obviously I have a dirty minded muse.

Mom is pushing for more 'What Now?', or 'Malfoy' as she call my drunk!Draco series. So I'll have to work on something for her soon, as she is not reading any Smallville stuff (she grimaces and waves her hand in that 'take it away' gesture whenever I mention working on it) and I never let her near the smut/almost smut stuff. Not that she'd want to read it but I'd still prefer to let her pretend I'm a pure-minded-virgin as much as she can... pretty much indefinitely really. I'm sure all kids feel that way.

Anyway, if Gray would just work on 'Wardrobe' then Mom would be appeased and lay off me a bit. *pokes Grayswandir* Or you could at least lie to her tell her you're working on it. *pokes Gray again*

Oh! And the happiest news of all Ann is going to be staying at Aunt's until after Thanksgiving at least. *bounces*

Ann has been staying at Aunt's house. \o/ Behold the power of quietness. I've been feeling kinda yicky the last week or so. My allergies have been keeping me miserable or doped up constantly. (Enough cigarette smoke to make my clothes stink and someone at the store bathed in old-lady perfume bad enough to gag a person half an isle away. :x) Went to the Lawyer's Wednesday, have an appointment at the court house the 15th. Mom has to file things for Granddad's estate. *stressstressstress*

Working on several things at once because I'm a serious slacker. Which I'm sure ya'll know by know.

+ Clex fest 23 entry 2 is started, and for once I have a workable idea - if I can get the blasted thing written without it getting high-jacked by a stray muse.

+ Started another version of Nephir's fic. Then trashed it and started over again. -_-; Yeah.

+ Almost done with Umbra's Logan/Remy drabble. \o/ Should have that posted in a day or two.

+ Working on an idea for Purr's bloody drabble. But she's going to have to wait 'cause I'm using it for my fall_for_sx day (Nov 24th). :P

+ Art Muse bit earlier and I roughed out the_con_cept's X-mas present. I think her flamingo is more free-form-ish then abstract. Oh, well it'll be pretty regardless. (it was almost crack!flamingo with a curly evil grin and Egyptianesque eyes, maybe for her birthday...)

+ Started NightMare's pay-it-forward art weeks ago - I'm not really digging it, but that could just be the doubt bugs crawling around. It would be easier if I knew what she'd like but she hasn't said.

+ I did the random NaNoWriMo plot generator but I'm not posting the result because I may yet use it. o.O


I'm looking for a few things:
- Ideas for safely shipping watercolor pictures, that are 1] cheap; and 2] easy.
- Someone to look over my Clex fest art.
- Someone to beta my clex fest fic (when it's done)
- Someone to beta 2-3 spander drabbles (as I finish them)

We took Jojo out and got her some jeans and a few tees for school. Spent ten minutes trying to find her a YELLOW notebook for her English class. (Since when did schools start making a color-coding system for classes?) Couldn’t find her one, so we bought something else and covered it using half a yellow folder. -_- Jojo really doesn’t want to go to school. At one point she wanted to home-school but her Mom talked her out of it. (I think my Aunt just didn’t want to have her around all the time - cuts into her ‘social life‘.)

Went to the lake, it was cooler and much nicer this time. Got home, Aunt calls and says she told her friend Jojo would go to the lake with their daughter. So off she went again, Mom went to what was supposed to be her b-day celebration at D’s.


Had no internet the last couple of days. I thought it was something wrong with my computer, turned out it was just my provider. The virus/firewall kept saying I was connected at 100kb/s but couldn’t load any pages. Tried all the usual unplug/restart/disconnect that tec-support suggests.

I was tired, cranky, had a two-day headache and was expecting a rather important email from a prospective employer. I dumped the hard-drive - assuming that somehow we had picked up a virus that my out of date anti-virus program (which I couldn’t update since I had no net connection) didn’t recognize.

Of course after that didn’t fix the problem I was ready to scream. I went to bed, got up the next day and what do you know the freckin thing was working. *head-desk* Now I have to re-upload all my programs again.


*sigh* I know I owe a few of you emails. I’m getting to that, really, I am. Still working on my fest fics. My muse best buckle down. There are a few other things on my to-do list. I’m going to be busy until after mid-Sept so they are just going to have to wait. (for those of you who can’t actually read my mind this means late b-day gifts for some of you *cough*Tyggie*cough*)
